World Literacy Rate: Countries With High Literacy Rates

Every year on September 8th, the world comes together to celebrate World Literacy Day, a global event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of literacy and promoting efforts to improve literacy rates worldwide. With a focus on education and the power of words, this day serves as a reminder of the transformative impact literacy can have on individuals and societies.

The Significance of World Literacy Day

In a world that is becoming increasingly interconnected and dependent on information, literacy plays a vital role in shaping the trajectory of nations. The ability to read, write, and comprehend is not just about deciphering words; it’s about unlocking doors to knowledge, communication, and economic opportunities.
Unfortunately, a significant portion of the global population still lacks basic literacy skills, hindering their participation in social, economic, and political spheres.

    Understanding the Literacy Rate

The literacy rate, often expressed as a percentage, indicates the proportion of people aged 15 and above who can read and write with understanding a short, simple statement about their everyday life. According to UNESCO, despite considerable progress made in recent decades, an estimated 773 million adults and young people around the world still lack basic literacy skills. This stark reality underscores the urgency of initiatives like World Literacy Day.

A low literacy rate is a sign that the nation is poor. It shows that people in such nations had fewer opportunities to get a uniform education or were unable to enroll in school for political and financial reasons. As a result, one’s economy is significantly impacted, possibly making the state one of the poorest in the world.

A country’s desire to contribute to efforts to promote peace, combat climate change, reduce gender inequality, and generally be relatively progressive in all facets is a sign of growth if it has a high literacy rate.

Through a combination of successful education policies, investments in human capital, and a strong commitment to providing their inhabitants with quality education, several nations around the world have attained exceptional literacy rates.

    1.Andorra, Europe

The educational system in Andorra is multilingual, and the country has high literacy rates in Andorran, Spanish, and French. This results from Andorra being a landlocked nation situated between France and Spain. The Principality of Andorra has agreements with the two parties.

Andorra’s success in obtaining a 100% literacy rate is largely due to the country’s law requiring kids to finish school full-time between the ages of 6 and 11. The government provides free education up to the secondary level in order to guarantee that everyone has an equal chance to receive it.

    2. Uzbekistan

The educational process in Uzbekistan has lasted a long time. Because it was once a part of the Soviet Union, it has a high literacy rate of 98%. After gaining independence in 1991, the government made considerable changes to the education system, establishing more than 60 high-quality institutions and offering free, mandatory education to all pupils.

    3. Latvia

Preschool, elementary, secondary, and higher education are the four levels that make up their educational system. Legally, pupils from the age of seven must attend obligatory schooling for nine years, or until they are 16 years old, out of the twelve years of general education. Basic education is defined as the nine years in question. The final three years are spent in secondary school.

    4. Estonia

Since 1989, Estonia has had a 99.73 percent literacy rate, which later rose to 99.77 percent. As a result, the figures of today are proof that the government is following its mandate to prioritize equal access to education. Estonia requires nine years of education, from seven to fifteen.

    5. Poland

In Polland, part-time compulsory education is available for students between the ages of 15 and 18. This can take place in a classroom context or outside of it, for example, by allowing students to enroll in vocational training programs offered by businesses. Poland has maintained a high average literacy rate of 98.25 percent throughout the 1970s. From the age of seven to nine extra years, education is provided for free and without charge.

How to Celebrate World Literacy Day

    1. Promote Reading: Reading is the cornerstone of literacy. Encourage reading by organizing book fairs, library events, and reading circles. Share book recommendations and hold storytelling sessions to ignite a love for reading among all age groups.
    2. Educational Workshops: Host workshops that focus on practical literacy skills. Teach participants how to write their names, read simple sentences, and perform basic arithmetic. These skills can empower individuals in their daily lives.
    3. Community Engagement: Collaborate with local communities, schools, and organizations to create awareness about literacy. Organize rallies, seminars, and interactive sessions to highlight the importance of literacy and its positive impact.
    4. Technology for Literacy: Leverage technology to enhance literacy efforts. Develop educational apps and digital platforms that offer engaging learning experiences for those who may not have access to traditional educational resources.
    1. Support Adult Literacy: Recognize that literacy is not limited to children. Many adults lack the ability to read and write. Provide resources for adult literacy classes and workshops, enabling lifelong learning.
    2. Advocate for Policy Changes: Use World Literacy Day as an opportunity to advocate for policy changes that prioritize education and literacy. Push for increased funding for schools, teacher training programs, and initiatives targeting underprivileged communities.
    3. Collaborative Partnerships: Engage with NGOs, governments, businesses, and individuals who share the vision of a literate world. Collaborative efforts can amplify the impact of literacy campaigns.
    4. Cultural Celebrations: Incorporate cultural elements into literacy celebrations. Showcase traditional storytelling, folk tales, and indigenous languages to emphasize the diversity of linguistic expression.
    5. Spread Awareness: Utilize social media and traditional media outlets to spread awareness about World Literacy Day. Share statistics, success stories, and informative content to educate the public about the ongoing challenges and the progress being made.
    6. Empowerment Through Literacy: Highlight how literacy empowers individuals to make informed decisions, participate in civic activities, and break the cycle of poverty. Illustrate how literacy contributes to personal growth and societal development.

World Literacy Day serves as a reminder that while progress has been made, there is still much work to be done to ensure that everyone has access to quality education and the opportunity to acquire essential literacy skills. By celebrating this day and actively participating in initiatives to improve literacy rates, we contribute to building a more equitable, knowledgeable, and prosperous world. Every effort to promote literacy is a step towards empowering minds and transforming societies for the better.

  • New Scam In Town: AI Voice Cloning Scam Fools Victims Into Giving Thousands

New Scam In Town: AI Voice Cloning Scam Fools Victims Into Giving Thousands

Earlier, scams were in the form of fake-looking SMSs claiming you won a jackpot or a mansion or calls claiming they need your credentials for some offer. Scams that you could ignore and be saved from with some awareness. But today, with the magical era of AI, these scams have gotten way more clever and personal. Meet your new threat- Ai Voice Cloning Scam!

A new breed of cybercriminals has been among the first to profit in the six months after Open AI initially released Chat GPT to the public and sparked an artificial intelligence arms race with the ability to rewrite history.

These cutting-edge thieves use high-tech tools and methods to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from regular folks like you and me. Cybercriminals have developed a new type of swindle using recently forged artificial intelligence (AI) voice copying technologies. They can virtually clone anyone’s voice with a short audio sample, allowing them to deliver false voicemails and voice messaging texts. This new type of AI voice scam is growing intently due to AI voice generators being available with just one click.

    Scam in Seconds

A stranger’s voice may now be created by anybody with a $1, a few minutes, and an internet connection. What’s at risk is our capacity to believe that the voices of persons we connect with online are authentic as normal people. We could someday live in a world where it’s difficult to tell whether a call you get from your mother or your employer is truly coming from them.

Although there may not yet be an AI voice cloning scam issue, one is seen in the distance. Creating methods with your loved ones to protect against the chance that your voices are synthesized, such as code phrases or a form of human two-factor authentication, according to some experts, is now the time.

You could anticipate the type of communications that cybercriminals produce. Those that are distressed and in a rush. They will imitate a victim’s friend or family member using the cloning technique, leaving a voicemail in which they claim the victim has been in a car accident, robbed, or otherwise harmed. In any case, the fake communication frequently claims that they urgently want money.

    Is it A Serious Issue?

One in four respondents to a recent worldwide poll, which included 7,000 people, stated they had fallen victim to an AI voice cloning scam themselves or knew someone who had.

These voice clone messages use a small portion of a person’s voice and a script written by a cybercriminal. In the global poll, 70% of respondents claimed they were unsure whether they could tell the difference between a cloned voice and the real thing.

Overall, the strategy has so far shown to be fairly successful. In our study, one in ten respondents reported receiving a message from an AI voice clone, and 77% of those victims claimed they suffered financial losses as a result.

    A Real Example

We always go through these studies here and there, but the question of credibility always stays. But as for this AI voice scam, there are plenty of real-life incidences to back.

Ruth Card received a random call on a random day. The person on the other end sounded exactly like her grandson and was crying claiming he is in jail. Her “grandson” also said he doesn’t have his phone, wallet, or card on him and he needs to pay for the bail.

Freaked out, Ruth, 73, and her husband Greg Grace, 75, rushed to their bank in Regina Saskatchewan, and withdrew 3000 Canadian dollars.

However, as they were making their way to another branch to withdraw more money, the manager stopped them and said another account holder had gotten a similar phone call and all of this was an AI voice scam made possible with AI voice generators.

Fortunately for this particular incident, there wasn’t a permanent and huge loss of money or other valuables, but the cases in which that does happen are many.

    Are There Laws and Regulations?

Artificial intelligence advancements have introduced a disturbing new element, making it possible for villains to mimic a voice with just a little audio sample, such as a few phrases. With the use of artificial intelligence (AI), a plethora of low-cost web programs can convert an audio clip into a voice clone, enabling a con artist to make whatever they write “speak”.

According to experts, government authorities, law enforcement, and the courts lack the tools necessary to stop the growing swindle. The majority of victims have few clues to follow to track down the offender, and it is challenging for the authorities to track down calls and money from international fraudsters. Additionally, there isn’t much legal precedence for courts to hold tool manufacturers responsible for their usage. With AI voice cloning scams picking up pace, the laws and regulations need to do the same to control them.

Another issue is Ai voice generators are available with just one search. Plus they have an extremely interface. Once you feed it with a voice sample, you are ready for your journey of AI voice scam.

    Be Safe, and Be Aware!

Tell the caller you have a terrible connection and will call them back if they claim to be from police enforcement. Ask what organization they are calling from (college security, the local jail, the FBI), then hang up (even though con artists will say almost anything to keep you on the line). If you are unable to reach your loved one, call local police authorities or find out the facility’s phone number to let them know what is happening.

Pro Tip! Have a secret passcode or phrase with your close circle and say it before every call to avoid such incidences.

  • What is Revenge Porn? And Does Law Protect Its Victims?

What is Revenge Porn? And Does Law Protect Its Victims?

An 11th grade student shared a picture of themselves in underwear privately to their partner. And to their shock, it was later shared with each one of their classmates as a joke. One wrong decision, one wrong person to trust, and things hit the fan. This, is Revenge Porn.

A couple was having problems. When one of them decided to break it off, they receive threats
from their partner of sending intimate pictures to friends and family if they decide to leave. In
fear of conservative parents and family, the partner decides to stay in the toxic relationship. With
a threatening partner who, at the end sends those pictures to friends while trash talking and
    laughing. This, is Revenge Porn.

Despite being often used, the phrase “revenge porn” might be deceptive. Some criminals may use
intimate or graphic videos or images after breakups, fights, or other unpleasant acts, even though
they are not motivated by retaliation or any personal feelings for the victim at the time the crime
happens. “Nonconsensual pornography (NCP),” which is defined as the dissemination of
sexually explicit photos of people without their agreement, is the legal and maybe more accurate
    word.

    What is Revenge Porn

Due to the growing popularity of digital devices and the internet, revenge porn is a relatively
recent phenomena. The victims of revenge porn can suffer terrible repercussions, and offenders
    may now get prison sentences.
In a kind of online abuse known as revenge porn, naked or sexually graphic images or films are
disseminated without the subjects’ knowledge or permission. It is strongly tied to sexual abuse
and is sometimes referred to as nonconsensual pornography.
Statistics say that 38% of men and 35% of women have traded or shared explicit graphic
photographs. To assist educate kids and adults that sexting is a choice, the media has embraced
ads and PSAs (though we recognize there are times when individuals feel compelled to do this).

    A Real World Problem

It typically occurs between partners who, when their relationship was healthy, shared personal or
intimate photos and videos, which were subsequently used to blackmail or hurt the other person
    after a disagreement or rupture.
As a result, when the relationship soured later on, one or both of the ex-partners threatened or
blackmailed the other by threatening to reveal the photos or videos to the public or to their
    family members and friends.
More and more people need to be educated on this as “what is revenge porn” is a question on
many minds. The lack of education shows.

Women are more likely to be targeted than males in image-based sexual abuse, or so-called
revenge porn, as is the case for sexual or gendered abuse and harassment online more generally.
Additionally, the effects of this type of abuse on a person’s health and wellness can be severe.
Revenge Porn laws need to be rigid and strict.

    Is Revenge Porn Illegal?

A reform in the law eliminates the need for victims of revenge porn who were subjected to
intimate image abuse to demonstrate that their abusers meant to cause them anguish.

The Online Safety Bill’s revisions to present legislation would protect victims by removing the
burden of proof from the prosecution that distress-inducing graphic photographs or videos were
    uploaded online.
The Revenge Porn laws all over the world might just result in pushing these people more towards
    harassing and threatening the victims.

    • Revenge porn laws are now present in 38 states in the United States as of July 2017, and legislation is pending in seven additional states.
    • Similar rules exist in the UK as well, and since they were passed in 2015, more than 200 people have been successfully convicted under them.
    • Early in 2017, Scotland’s Abusive Behavior and Sexual Harm Act went into force. New Zealand’s Harmful Digital Communications Act is a similar piece of protective legislation.
    • Non-consensual pornography is now illegal in several other nations, including Israel, Canada, and the Philippines.
    • The Criminal Code is one of the rules and regulations that victims of so-called revenge porn can use in Indonesia to seek justice. However, several experts have noted that these laws have often not been adequately executed.
    • Revenge porn may result in a 2 year jail sentence and a 60.000 euro fine in France.
    • According to Canadian law, it is illegal for anyone to knowingly publish, distribute, transmit, sell, make available, or advertise an intimate image of another person if they know or have reasonable cause to believe that the person being represented in the image has not consented to the conduct in question.
    • Japan criminalizes Revenge Porn and states that editing, sharing, or trading images without the person’s consent, and under circumstances that may degrade or shame them will constitute under sexual harassment. The crime comes with five years in prison as well as monetary compensation to the victim.

  • World Migratory Day 2023:  Climate, Conservation, Campaigns for The Migratory Bird

World Migratory Day 2023:  Climate, Conservation, Campaigns for The Migratory Bird

When the clever minds of the world were analyzing the airplane, their first thought must have been how will this mighty steel giant navigate its way in the sky? There can’t be any diversion signs, or navigating arrows up there! Nature has the answer of course!  The migratory bird has been doing that for their whole lives. Every year, migratory birds travel long distances to breed and feed. Taking off from the northern breeding areas landing on the southern wintering grounds. World Migratory Bird Day is a day to raise awareness to conserve the environment for the migratory bird.

    A Brief Hi-Hello

The annual World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) campaign raises awareness of the need of protecting migrating birds and their habitats. It has a worldwide reach and is a powerful instrument for increasing public awareness of the dangers migrating birds face, the value of their habitats, and the need for international collaboration to protect them.

To commemorate WMBD, individuals from all over the world conduct public activities such as bird festivals, educational initiatives, exhibitions, and birding outings.

All of these events can be carried out at any time of the year because different nations and areas experience migration peaks at various periods, but the primary days for global celebrations are the second Saturdays in May and October.

    Importance of The Migratory Bird

A wonder of nature is avian migration. 20% of all bird species known to science—more than 2,000 species—travel great distances for breeding and feeding. They travel tens of thousands of miles in the air in search of the ideal habitats and biological circumstances for eating, reproducing, and rearing their young. When breeding sites experience unfavorable conditions, it is time to fly to areas with better weather.

There are several variations of migratory patterns. Most birds make the journey from their northern breeding habitats to their southern wintering grounds.

To take advantage of the warmer coastal temperatures in winter, some birds breed in southern Africa and migrate to northern wintering grounds or horizontally. Other birds spend the winter in the lowlands and migrate to the mountains in the summer.

A quick fact about migratory birds- the Bar-Headed Goose is the highest-flying migratory bird on the planet. This incredible animal frequently reaches heights of up to 5.5 miles above sea level!

You might assume that because it is a native of central Asia, it must ascend to such heights to cross the Himalayan Mountains on its migration route.

    Humans Affecting The Migratory Bird

Many migratory birds are particularly sensitive to environmental changes, and climate change effect on migratory birds can be seen. Extreme weather, changing flora, and rising temperatures all have a substantial impact on the vital habitats of birds.

These are frequently possible causes for the decrease in bird populations and modifications to migration patterns.

Different migratory bird species react to these environmental changes in different ways: In general, birds that migrate over short and moderate distances may adjust to climatic change more readily than those that migrate over vast distances.

Climate change’s effect on Migratory birds can be seen in more ways than one. Their migratory patterns are often more set, and they have a hard time readjusting to temperature changes. They are more vulnerable than other birds to the effects of climate change as a result of their rigidity.

“Human-induced climate change has begun to affect our planet and the organisms that live on it. Many migrating birds are very sensitive to environmental changes and are already being affected by climate change,” –Official website of World Migratory Bird Day

Communication Towers And The Migratory Bird

According to specialists, the radiation from mobile communication towers has significantly hampered the arrival of migrating birds, as seen by the decline in their population over the last year.

Their innate sense of direction is compromised by the radiation from cell phone towers.

The brain cells in the migratory birds help them track the route between the North and South Pole. Therefore during odd seasons they migrate to India and go back when the environment in their native place turns pleasant,” said Ram Lakhan Singh, former principal chief conservator of forest

Both cellular phone base stations and cellular phones are crucial to our daily lives. They are not merely free-standing towers; rather, they are a balloon of invisible electromagnetic radiations that continue to endanger the nearby life, particularly the birds.

Since the development of wireless technology, the electromagnetic field’s airborne propagation has dramatically increased. Electromagnetic radiation emissions from a small number of radio or television transmitters were the norm before the invention of mobile phones.

Many nations have noticed a decline in bird diversity that coincides with the expansion of GSM 900 or 1800 cellular mobile base stations.1

    Caring, Conservation, and Countries

Saving the Migratory bird is a responsibility of not just me and you, but the world as a whole.

Recently in 2020 at the 13th Conference of Parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS COP13), which will take place in Gandhinagar, India, and Russia have proposed working together to protect migratory arctic bird species and to support India’s efforts to protect birds.

Under this, the countries pledged to make efforts to clear the Central Asian Flyway of migratory birds.

The Flyway includes numerous significant waterbird migratory routes, the majority of which go from the southernmost non-breeding (wintering) areas in West and South Asia, the Maldives, and British Indian Ocean Territory to the northernmost breeding areas in the Russian Federation (Siberia).

Bird migration is a rare occurrence in nature. Of the 11,000 bird species in the world, about 2,000 migrate, covering countless miles in search of the ideal habitats and conditions.

A dozen different bird species, including pink flamingos, pelicans, cranes, and others, are moving into Kazakhstan to fly and lay their eggs.

Since 2004, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Government of Kazakhstan, and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) have worked together to implement several initiatives aimed at the integrated conservation of priority globally significant wetlands serving as migratory birds’ nesting and habitat in Kazakhstan.

  • How Important is Office Design for Productivity in Workspace?

How Important is Office Design for Productivity in Workspace?

Productivity is key to any successful business. Having a suitable and manageable workspace can increase employees’ productivity and creativity. Expert suggest that office designs are very important for productivity for the workers in an office. Certain office layouts can help employees to work more efficiently in an office which helps to increase productivity.

How to increase your office productivity? Does office design help to increase office productivity? What does office design for productivity look like?

In this article, we will discuss how office layout affects office productivity. Designing your office in a particular way creates a favorable office environment, making working more smooth and more effective.

There are many ways you can innovate your office design for productivity. Office layout also helps to change the mood of workers and keep them active and alert all day.

Let us discuss how office design is essential for office productivity. These are a few factors that affect workspace productivity, with the help of these you can  create your own office design for productivity :

    Having a Personal Workspace

For many employees, a disorganized and chaotic workspace makes managing their to-do lists more difficult and time-consuming. Others may prefer a more chaotic environment. Someone rightfully said, “Creative geniuses prefer a busy workplace”.

If you’re looking to streamline and simplify your workplace, consider the following:

    • Filing of Electronic Data Processing (EDP) and paper documents in an orderly archive system.
    • Replacing your HR filing cabinet with a specialized HR system is a significant first step in organizing your office space.
    • Keep the things you use most close at hand and clean the things you only use occasionally.
    • Recycle or dispose of documents you no longer need: Destroy any confidential business or personal information before deleting it.

    Ergonomics is the key

The goal of ergonomics practice is to improve the conditions for performing daily activities in the workplace, thereby minimizing the associated potential health risks and reducing exertion and fatigue.

Improper desk placement can affect employees’ hands, wrists, joints, and backs, leading to absenteeism and associated costs to the organization.

Ergonomic considerations vary greatly between different types of workstations. For a typical office clerk role, consider the following:

    • Use a laptop or monitor stand to keep the monitor properly positioned to allow for the best possible seating position.
    • Use a stool if your feet naturally cannot rest comfortably on the floor.
    • Use keyboard and mouse trays to hold your hands, wrists, and forearms effortlessly.

Good ergonomics are really helpful for increasing office productivity.

Creating a proper environment for working

Office interiors can have far-reaching effects on office productivity, people’s health and well-being that go beyond simple ergonomics.

    For example,

    1. Poor ventilation and heating/air conditioning systems can cause discomfort and health problems
    2. Inadequate lighting can cause eyestrain, fatigue, stress, and headaches. Try to make the most of natural light and introduce adjustable lighting systems whenever possible.
    3. High noise levels can make it difficult for employees to concentrate and talk to colleagues, both in person and on the phone, resulting in reduced productivity and morale.

Creating different work areas, such as places for informal meetings and quiet corners for intensive work can make a big difference. A good office interior is important for productivity

Modern offices also rely on visual communication to keep teams informed and engaged throughout the day. Many businesses now use commercial video displays to share real-time data or company updates in common areas. These screens help bridge the gap between different departments and make information easy to see at a glance.

    Types of workspaces

A well-designed office interior should offer a variety of workspaces and have the right technology and organizational culture to help them work in different locations when they see fit.

Flexible spaces can also be used for lunch breaks and informal meetings, for unexpected meetings of people between teams and departments, and for welcoming teleworkers visiting the office.

Employees’ primary workspaces, typically their office design for productivity, should provide space to work individually and communicate and collaborate with other team members. For example, offices separated by partitions subtly prevent conversations between team members.

  • Hollywood Writers’ Strike Due to Failed Negotiation. Know Their Demands?

Hollywood Writers’ Strike Due to Failed Negotiation. Know Their Demands?

The Union of Writers Guild of America (WGA) representing thousands of film and television writers went on strike on Tuesday. This is the first Hollywood writers’ strike after 2007. The writers are out on pickets on Tuesday afternoon.

Here is what you need to know about the Hollywood writers’ strike:

    Why did writers strike[1] ?

The East and West divisions of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) represent 11,500 film and television writers of Hollywood who negotiate a new deal with major Hollywood studios every third year. It had long been expected that the negotiations would be tense this time.

Hollywood TV production has exploded over the past decade as media companies pour billions into streaming services.

But[2]  the writers said their pay is stagnant. WGA executives said the current system was broken, arguing that “the survival of writing as a profession is at stake in this negotiation..”

Where[3]  do these two sides stand?

From what Hollywood writers and studios had to say late Monday before the strike, there is a huge gap between ‘what the writers want’ and ‘what the studios are willing to offer’.

The Hollywood companies said their offer included “generous increases in compensation for writers.” The unions accused the studios of “betray[4] [5] ing a commitment to further devaluing the profession of writing..”

How does writer’s[6]  strike affect viewers?

Shows like, ‘Saturday Night Live’ and series like, ‘The Tonight Show’ starring Jimmy Fallon, ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’, and ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ are at risk of shutting down.

Seth Meyers, NBC at 12:30 p.m host, referred to the end of the airwaves in a web segment late last week, saying: “If you don’t see me here next week, know that it is something that is not done lightly and that I will be heartbroken to miss you as well.”

During the 2007 writers’ strike, the night shows were not[7]  aired for two months. TV soap operas[8]  may have yet to have any new episodes after a month.

If the writers’ strike continues, viewers will be unable to watch some of their favorite shows, although that won’t be seen until later this year. Reality series and international programs will be broadcast in a busy rotation.

Due to the long production time, it will take a much longer time for this strike to affect the films. Most of the films which were planned for this year have already been shot.

    Do the writers agree?

Tensions between writers and studios existed for a long time, and writers often felt they were not given enough importance, especially when compared to actors and directors in Hollywood.

In mid-April, more than 9,000 writers approved the strike with 98% of the vote.

Writers have left multiple times in the past. The 2007 strike lasted 100 days. The longest writers’ strike in 1988 lasted 153 days.

What[9]  are the claims of the writers?

The writers said that there were several issues in these negotiations. But for them, compensation is the most important thing.

Writers argued that the streaming world had worsened their working conditions. Many streaming shows have 8-12 episodes per season, compared to the 20+ episodes made for traditional television.

Writers are rooting for better residual royalties, a form of royalties for reruns and other performances. They believe it represents[10]  an important revenue source for a streaming-disordered and middle-class writer.

They also face the “abuse” of so-called mini-rooms. There is no single definition of a mini space. For example, the mini-room consists of a small group of writers who were hired by the studios before the show was officially aired. But since it’s not a formal writer’s room, studios use it as an excuse to pay less to writers.

    What do the studies say?

Studios say[11]  now is not the time to change the way writers are paid drastically.

The advertising market is bleak, including cable and broadcast networks. They have been very profitable for decades. Wall Street hit media companies hard after Netflix lost subscribers for the first time last year. This forced studio management to find a way to turn its loss-making streaming services into profitable entities.

Disney is laying off 7,000 employees. Warner Bros., Discovery shed thousands of jobs and canceled shows over the past year as it faced huge debt. Many other studios are taking similar measures.

    What about collateral damage?

Prolonged production blockage can harm production support workers such as drivers, dry cleaners, caterers, carpenters, and shipyard workers.

The 2007 strike lasted 100 days and cost the Los Angeles economy an estimated $2.1 billion.

  • 5 Reasons Why You Should Workout While Working From Home.

5 Reasons Why You Should Workout While Working From Home.

Working from home has become normal and many companies have made adopted hybrid working. [1] Working remotely has its benefits, it is not necessarily good for our physical and mental health. We find ourselves sitting for long hours and not getting sufficient physical activity we tend to [2] gain weight,[3]  get fatigued easily, sleep problems. Not only that, loneliness, social anxiety, and other long-term health issues are also observed in many people. Therefore, a workout routine is necessary when working from home.[4]

For some people, finding the time to work out can be difficult and without enough motivation or planning, they simply don’t feel like doing it.

We know that exercise is good for our mental health. It improves your mood and helps you get better sleep. Exercise also helps in alleviating depression, stress, and anxiety.

Having been appreciated and encouraged by former Kings, to today’s leaders and intellectuals, Dancing is one of the most popular hobbies and skills to pick up. International Dance Day, which is celebrated annually on April 29 to honor all dance styles worldwide, honors this lovely form of art.

World Dance Day is another name for International Dance Day. The day promotes culture and the arts while increasing public understanding of the “art of dance.” Additionally, it promoted awareness of various dance styles and their importance to the art form.

Describing a dance form is as beautiful as the dance itself. The elegance with which one moves, the music that accompanies, the expression that adds life to the dance, and the effort that is masked under an ease that had come through many years of dedication; there is even more that adds beauty to this assortment. It is not that simple to define dance.

    Significance of World Dance Day

Today, performing arts like Salsa, Jazz, Bharatnatyam, and Tango are popular around the world. They have participation and instructors helping them be more popular.

But that isn’t the case with several dance forms around the world.

    1. Flamenco

  • What Was Elon Musk’s Motive Behind Removing Twitter Blue Check Marks?

What Was Elon Musk’s Motive Behind Removing Twitter Blue Check Marks?

With the latest update coming straight from the Twitter lane, Elon Musk removed all the Twitter verifications from legacy accounts. According to earlier updates, Twitter blue check marks could be bought, and there were variations of Grey, Gold, And Blue check marks given to accounts of politicians, organizations, and social figures.

On Friday morning, hundreds of thousands of Twitter users discovered that their Blue Tick, a checkmark that once gave their account some kind of validity, was missing. The removal of Blue Tick from all accounts that do not pay for Twitter Blue service was previously announced by Twitter CEO Elon Musk to take place on April 20.

    What WAS the Blue Tick?

Before this change, celebrities, influencers, journalists, and other individuals who met specific criteria and adhered to Twitter’s rules—described on the business website as “active, notable, and authentic of public interest”—were awarded the blue tick.

The blue tick, which was awarded to a small number of users—both personal and commercial accounts—would earn importance and legitimacy from the platform’s millions of other users.

    What is a Legacy Account

Legacy accounts were those that had already undergone verification due to their notoriety in the media. Celebrities, journalists, influencers, and public figures all liked these accounts.

Twitter started its “Twitter verification mark” system in 2009 after a bunch of legal consequences. A Twitter blue check mark verification symbol on an account means that, according to Twitter, “we’ve been in contact with the person or entity the account is representing and verified that it is approved.”

    Elon Musk’s Concerns

Before he took over Twitter, Musk criticized the Twitter verification system. He said that the previous Twitter administration had a bias when verifying accounts. Additionally, he claimed that the Blue Tick system has divided Twitter users into two groups. So, as soon as Musk gained control of Twitter, he began marketing the Blue Tick. He said that anyone could now own the Blue Tick by shelling out just $8 every month.

Through these verified accounts, he was also concerned about the fake news being spread and didn’t know whether these accounts were worth that status on the micro-blogging platform.

Elon Musk has seen and has been vocal about the misinformation being spread on Twitter ever since the pandemic. He was beyond concerned about the lame, and sometimes dangerous tips being shared; sometimes by verified accounts.

Fake news only leads to chaos and if verification and a paid Twitter blue checkmark can solve that, then why not.

This seemingly unnecessary step taken by Musk could be his plan to eradicate or lessen the spread of accounts known for racism, false activism, misinformation, and in general hateful comments.

    The Consequences

Three categories of users emerged as a result, as opposed to the previous two: those who received Blue Tick as a verification badge from the prior Twitter administration, those who purchased Blue Tick from the new Twitter, and those who had none.

Some people may feel that the blue check mark that used to be shown next to a user’s name has lost its charm because anybody can purchase one and put it on their profile. But nobody can dispute that it was helpful and accomplished its goal of distinguishing legitimate reports from fictitious or mocking ones. Although Twitter has established rules for these accounts, the issue may still exist.

As a result, users may need to take an additional step that involves cross-referencing their accounts with those of other websites. For instance, the majority of famous people or organizations publish their Twitter accounts on other social networking sites. Additionally, the majority of businesses publish their social media usernames on their websites, allowing users to confirm the legitimacy of an account they are following.

The practice of making fun of individuals who paid for Twitter Blue and received a Blue Tick quickly became a meme. Musk then decided to tweak the wording on the Blue Tick, further confusing the situation.
