Employees applauded and clapped as Cook personally welcomed visitors at the business’s new Mumbai location, which was inaugurated on Tuesday. “What we wanted to do in India was bring the best of Apple to India. We have brought different functions within Apple here. We view India as great from several points of view. I think the skill here is our very unique, the vibrancy of the people and the culture, the dynamism of the market, the feeling that anything is possible. All of these things bode well for India’s future, and we want to be a part of it.  We want to be a part of it for all of ourselves, mot not just a part of it, from a marketing point of view.  I can’t stress enough. We are all in,” Cook said.

25 Years of Apple

As part of its aim to foster innovation for its broad user base, iPhone maker Apple Inc. is stepping up its involvement with Indian developers. As it celebrates 25 years in India by expanding its production and retail presence there. 

For instance, at the event in Mumbai, Hindustani classical musician Sandeep Ranade demonstrated the Apple-only software NaadSadhana, which is used by both amateur and professional musicians throughout the globe.

With the launch of its first Apple Store locations in Mumbai and Delhi. The company is also announcing a significant expansion. Additionally, the business is enhancing its Indian manufacturing infrastructure. All of this follows the American company’s record-breaking domestic sales.

The opening of the new outlets coincides with its efforts to increase its retail presence in India, the second-largest smartphone market in the world. In the price-conscious Indian market, where more than 95% of cell phones use Google’s Android operating system, the iPhone remains an aspirational device.

However, analysts claim that even while the stores are a crucial component of Apple’s branding strategy, they won’t immediately affect the company’s sales in India. Others, however, have argued that now is a good moment for Apple to invest in India’s expanding “premium smartphone” market. By “premium smartphone,” they mean cell phones that cost 40,000 rupees (£451; $558) or more.

According to the company, Foxconn and Wistron, two of the iOs company’s major contract manufacturers, had the fastest growth among Indian manufacturers in the third quarter of 2022.
